Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I believe technology is at its best when it's approachable and accessible to everyone. Let's do amazing things with the tech we own!

Prediction: Spring Loaded

Prediction: Spring Loaded

All eyes on Apple yet again, and this event should be one for the books. This Tuesday, April 20th at 1 PM EST, Tim Cook and friends will take the stage at Apple Park at their HQ Spaceship in Cupertino California. Apple, like all companies, have had to adapt and change their usual framework for these product announcements over the past year. I’m sure they are missing live presentations with an audience from the Steve Jobs Theater, but they absolutely know their impact during these times is more relevant than ever. Here are the items I expect Apple to talk about on Tuesday.

iOS 14.jpg

Software

iOS 14.5

iPadOS 14.5

Apple tvOS 14.5

Apple watchOS 7.4

Software will be a big item that comes out of beta tomorrow. I predict it will be the unsung hero tomorrow as iOS 14.5 presents the highly anticipated Ad Tracking feature which will limit the amount a company can track you. Starting tomorrow apps will be required to ask users for their permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

iPad Pro - This is something I’m really excited about. The iPad Pro with every update is becoming more and more powerful. This new iPad Pro will be sure to have some more “pro” features, that will unlock creativity, productivity, and functionality for users. This could finally be the iPad that allows you to run pro Apps such as Xcode, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro.

Apple Pencil - Along with the new iPad Pro, this would be a perfect time for Apple to release an Apple Pencil with new features. I’d say longer battery life, more multi-touch features, and I’m sure it will maintain the magnetic charging feature which is one of my favorite integrations for iPad Pro. From the graphic in the invite which was sent out last week, I would guess that the Apple Logo was created on iPad Pro with the new Apple Pencil.

Apple TV (Finally!?) - I really hope this one happens. The Apple TV is one of the most beloved products of Apple, especially during this pandemic over the last year. With so much content streaming, this would be an amazing upgrade to the Apple product line.

imac-colors.jpg

iMacs - Now this is something that would really get people fired up. Apple has been rumored to release a new line of iMacs bringing back colors! Your heard that right. I feel if this happens equipped with Apple silicon as the processor, they would be a huge hit. If we do see new iMacs tomorrow, I can see this being a great time to introduce new colored external keyboards as well. These alone would be a hot product and top selling accessory.

AirTags - Now this one I’m really not sure about. These devices that the internet has called “AirTags” have been anticipated for over a year. As it turns out Apple hasn’t mentioned these mythical devices at all, so up until this moment they truly have been a rumor. Years ago when Apple rebranded the Find my iPhone App to FindMy, I figured they had bigger ideas in the world of a user tracking its products. This may finally be the event that we get the see what this new product is capable of.

Services - I do think Apple could have another subscription service that they bundle in with their Apple One services. A book subscription, audio books, and podcast subscription would be a very welcomed integration to the Apple ecosystem.

Well time will tell, as I’m quite excited to see what Apple has to offer. As all Apple Keynotes you can either watch live this Tuesday, April 20th at 1 PM EST, 10 AM PST via the Apple TV App on a compatible device, or right here on their Apple Events website. You can even add this to your calendar using this link

Happy Keynote Day Everyone! 🚀
